Michael grew up in Chester County, Pennsylvania and explored the vast open spaces of land by traversing through the winding farm roads, the rocky woods or wading through creeks. He found his peace by being in nature. His art is intended to provide a glimpse of that same peace to those who view it.

Areas once teeming with colorful wildlife are being replaced with condominiums, construction, shopping centers. Michael chooses his subject matter as an attempt to preserve a small portion of the beauty that is being thrown away.
